SAUK CITY, Wis. — McFarlane Ag, is proud to introduce the latest innovation in the tillage tool and residue management arena with the unveiling of its new Roller Crimper product. The newest additions to the McFarlane line will be unveiled at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky.

“McFarlane Ag is continually looking to provide growers with the best tillage tools on the market,” said Norm Burgeson, National Sales Manager for McFarlane Ag. “The new Roller Crimper gives farmers that utilize heavy cover crops as part of the land management practices a new and effective option. Whether trying to minimize chemical application or incorporate residue, this tool can really handle the job.”

In addition the new Roller Crimper from McFarlane also introduces enhanced design elements to eliminate many of the problems that other tools trying to do the same work encounter. Some of the key elements of the innovative design include:

  • unique bearing guards protect against wrapping/plugging;
  • blades that will penetrate ground in uneven conditions to get full crimp;
  • setup on rear or front-mount 3-point attachment;
  • beveled blades that require less weight than conventional crimpers using flat bars;
  • also available in an inter-row option for cash crop operations.

“Our engineering staff listened closely to the needs of our growers and have come up with a product that removes some key challenges to managing heavy cover crops,” added Aaron Faessler, McFarlane Ag Engineering Supervisor. “We’re also very pleased with the inter-row option that we have developed for working in cash crop farming operations. Our number one goal is to provide our growers with a variety of tools that will best fit with their individual tillage practices”
