ServiTech, Inc. was founded on June 10, 1975, when three farmer-owned cooperatives in southwest Kansas recognized the need for area producers to access advanced technical information. As a federated cooperative, we are owned by other cooperatives, ensuring that our focus remains on serving the needs of the agricultural community. We started with 100,000 acres under contract, providing support and resources to local agricultural producers. From the beginning, our mission has been to meet the growing demand for technology-driven solutions in farming and agricultural practices.
Since our founding, ServiTech has experienced steady growth, driven by the increasing demand for our services and the need for faster, more efficient soil testing. In 1977, we created ServiTech Laboratories to offer quicker turnaround times for our customers. By 1981, we expanded into northeastern Colorado, followed by our entry into Nebraska in 1982, which has since become one of our largest territories for Crop Services. As testing volumes grew, we opened a second laboratory in Hastings, Nebraska, in 1988 to better serve our customers.
In 2000, ServiTech became the largest agronomy and agricultural laboratory in the United States. Our expansion continued with new regions, including Iowa and the Corn Belt, and the opening of a lab in Amarillo, Texas, in 2005 to support the needs of cattle feeding operations in the Texas Panhandle.
As the agricultural industry has evolved, so have we. In 2009, we launched our Precision Agriculture department to track real-time data from farmers' fields and provide actionable insights. Today, ServiTech remains at the forefront of agricultural innovation, continuously expanding and adapting to meet the evolving needs of farmers and producers, and providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
