Use New Burndown Formulation To Treat More No-Tilled Acres

Gramoxone MAX, a new formulation of Syngenta’s popular Gramoxone herbicide, is being marketed for no-till weed control this spring. Each gallon will contain 3 pounds of active ingredient compared to the earlier Gramoxone Extra that contained only 2 1/2 pounds.

“Farmers won’t be applying more pounds of active ingredient per acre with the more concentrated formulation,” says Bill Beutke, Gramoxone brand manager. “However, the new formulation allows growers to treat the same number of acres with fewer containers. That will help growers save time, be more efficient and cut down on container disposal.”

The new formulation can be used as a burndown material with no-till or in stale seedbed situations. It can also be used as a post-emergence herbicide treatment under a hooded sprayer or as a directed spray.

Like Gramoxone Extra, the new formulation is fast-acting, with weed control results seen in as little as 24 hours. It is also effective on a broad spectrum of tough early-season weeds and grasses. Rainfast in as little as 30 minutes, it can be tankmixed with many other herbicides for weed-control program flexibility and economy.
