Strip-till will be part of the discussion at the annual field day at the Bakerlads Farm and Raymond & Stutzman Farms in Michigan.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. (Eastern) with the program beginning at 9 am on Cadmus Road near Clayton.

Topics include strip-till, nitrogen management, economics, soil quality, high production crop systems, fungicide management and equipment demonstrations. NRCS staff will be available to discuss EQIP and other Farm Bill programs with you. The noon speaker will be agricultural commodity expert Richard Brock, owner of the Brock Report.

The program ends at 3:30 p.m. at the Raymond and Stutzman Farms on Seneca Road. RUP and CCA credits may be available for attending the day-long field day.

Aug. 26 in southwest Minnesota

The Conservation Tillage Field Day, sponsored by the Heron Lake Watershed District in southwest Minnesota will include strip-till discussions.

The plot is located a half mile east of Highway 60 on Jackson County Road 20, 2 miles northeast of MNSP.

These tillage methods will be displayed: Strip-till, one-pass, no-till, chiselplow. ridge-till and chiselplow with an alternative fertilizer program will be displayed. 

Registration begins at 4:45 p.m. and the program starts at 5 p.m. Joe Bassett, Dawn Equipment will present at 5:20 p.m., followed by Joe Poppe of the NRCS at 5:35 p.m. and ag consultant Kevin Kimberley at 5:45 pm. Supper will be served at 6:10 p.m. and the program ends at 7 p.m.

In case of rain, the field day will be held at the Mark Pietz homestead at 39852 240th Street, Lakefield, Minn.
