“This world is quickly changing and whether you adapt with it or not is going to determine whether you go the way of the dinosaurs or whether you're a part of a new future…” – Jonathan Lundgren, founder, Blue Dasher Farm and Ecdysis Foundation

Formerly with the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, entomologist Jonathan Lundgren left the ARS in 2016 and started up Blue Dasher Farm and the Ecdysis Foundation to promote the expanded use of regenerative agriculture practices across the country. For the past few  years he’s been working to validate regenerative farming with scientific data that shows the connection between practices and outcomes.

For this week’s podcast, we caught up with Jonathan to discuss a new research paper he’s written called “Defining and validating regenerative farm systems using a composite of ranked agricultural practices.” Join us as Jonathan talks about how he and his team developed the regenerative matrix score, the different farming systems they looked at, the metrics they evaluated, and why it matters.
