In the Mbire and Murehwa districts of Zimbabwe, smallholder farmers are being introduced to agroecology interventions as part of a CGIAR Initiative.
Smallholder farmers in resource-poor communities of Zimbabwe and much of the Global South have been experiencing low crop productivity due to many factors, including the wrong seeds and seed varieties, labor shortages, loss of agro-biodiversity, insufficient inputs, degrading soils and recurrent droughts.
