South African no-tiller Egon Zunckel is always grappling with erratic weather patterns on his farm in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. On average, Zunckel gets roughly 36 inches of rain per year, but it’s not uncommon to go 4 months without a single drop during the winter. That’s one of several reasons why he went 100% no-till 20 years ago. The No-Till Passport series is brought to you by Martin Industries.

The survey also broke down respondents by various demographics. College-educated consumers were the most likely to report they had heard of no-till farming at 23%. About 24% of surveyed male consumers said they were aware of no-till farming, as opposed to just 14% of women. 

Dan Gillespie was also known as "Dan The Tree Man" in Battle Creek, after 30 years of classroom planting demonstrations with fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students in local schools.

Projects must focus on the on-farm, on-ranch or forest production of commodities and show reductions of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission or carbon sequestration as a benefit. The project description specifically mentions cover crops, no-till and low-till among the projects favored for selection, but indicates they won’t be enough by themselves.
