“No-Till, for me, has been something that allowed me to farm on my own terms…” — Bryan Van Holten

Since its debut in 1993, six individuals have attended all 27 National No-Tillage Conferences. In this episode of the No-Till Farmer Influencers and Innovators podcast series, brought to you by Martin Industries, we listen in on a panel discussion with these growers, led by No-Till Farmer editor Frank Lessiter.

Panel members Allen Berry, Allan Brooks, R.D. Wolheter, Bryan Van Holten, Scott Davidson, and Randall Reeder reflect on lessons learned in 25 years of no-tilling, discussing why they decided to commit to no-till, the biggest impact it’s had on their lives, the biggest mistake they made and much more.

In addition, Frank talks about a pair of brothers who learned the hard that they had to ask really tough questions when renting out their farmland. He also answers a listener question about the rate of adoption in cover crops.

P.S. There’s lots more great no-till stories and history in Frank Lessiter’s new book, From Maverick to Mainstream: A History of No-Till Farming. Check it out here.
