No-tillers — being innovative by nature — have a shrewd eye when it comes to evaluating the tools that bring them success in their operations. That’s why it continues to make absolute sense to have the readers of No-Till Farmer cast their votes on the products that made a major contribution to their bottom line success in 2007.

Readers were asked to nominate the top three products that made the greatest impact on their no-till program in 2007. The nominations were scored on the basis of first-, second- and third-place votes in determining the overall product rankings.

Besides naming a “No-Till Product of the Year” for 2007, no-till products in 10 specific categories were selected for honors. The winners were recognized and announced during the 16th annual National No-Tillage Conference in early January in Cincinnati.

2007 No-Till Product of the Year

Garnering the most votes of all products among the readers of No-Till Farmer was YieldGard VT Triple, a stack of YieldGard insect protection using the company’s new VecTran technology and Roundup in-plant traits.

In 2007, Monsanto launched YieldGard VT Triple, its next-generation in-plant insect protection and weed control product. YieldGard VT Triple combines YieldGard VT second-generation rootworm control, Roundup Ready Corn 2 technology and YieldGard Corn Borer — with all three traits in a single seed.

The Roundup Ready Corn 2 System features increased application flexibility and proven crop safety that Monsanto officials say can add up to $18 more profit per acre.
