When Jim Howard started his no-till operation, he aimed to model himself after other successful farmers. And the one trait he noticed among those who were successful is they did the basics right all the time.

In this presentation from the 2016 National No-Tillage Conference, Jim, who no-tills 450 acres with his son Branson in the Piedmont region of N.C., will talk about the basics to his farm that have led to a profitable no-till operation, even on soils that have been abused from centuries of erosion and tillage.

Before we get into the presentation, I’d like to mention that Jim will refer to some slides from the PowerPoint presentation he shared at the conference.

Click here if you would like to view those slides.

In today’s No-Till Farmer podcast, brought to you by Copperhead Ag, we welcome Jim to share the lessons he’s learned from no-tilling corn, soybeans and wheat in Mooresville, North Carolina.
