Has corn yield followed fertilizer nitrogen usage? The answer is no, and in today’s episode, Richard Mulvaney will explain why that is.

In this episode, which comes from the 2015 National No-Tillage Conference, Richard will debunk the idea that synthetic nitrogen fertilizer helps build soil organic matter by increasing the input of residue carbon, and provide research that shows why this idea is false. The University of Illinois fertility specialist will also talk about what no-tillers can do to build up their soils — and their yields — that doesn’t involve more fertilizer.

In today’s No-Till Farmer podcast, brought to you by Montag Manufacturing, we welcome Richard Mulvaney to talk about why nitrogen fertilizers are not building your soils, and what you can do about it.
