A no-till farming operation, Rulon Enterprises, recently received the Conservation Legacy award at the American Soybean Association awards banquet at the Commodity Classic in Nashville, Tenn.

The Arcadia, Ind., farm is committed to the use of cover crops to conserve soil and improve soil fertility. They regularly use their 31-row White planter to plant a cover-crop mix into their soybean stubble each September.

Operated by Ken, Rodney and Roy Rulon, the Rulon farm had been chosen last fall as a regional winner as well.

Rulon Enterprises was also honored in 2010 as a No-Till Innovator award winner in the crop-production category by No-Till Farmer and Syngenta.

Ken Rulon and his family have been farming continuous no-till in central Indiana since 1993.
