Vincennes, Ind., no-tiller Ray McCormick attended the very first National No-Tillage Conference in Indianapolis in 1993, and he keeps coming back.
“Whenever I go to the No-Till Conference, the first session I go to — about 10 minutes into it — I say, “Well, that paid for the conference,” because I learn so much from all these great farmers. They focus on something they’ve done a lot of work on throughout their lives — like compaction, cover crops or soil health — and I go, “Wow, I can’t believe I just learned all this, which I would’ve never figured out on my own in a lifetime.”
In this video, McCormick checks in from his farm to explain why he’s excited to attend the 2025 National No-Tillage Conference, Jan. 7-10 in Louisville, Ky. McCormick will be delivering a general session presentation, “Thinking Outside the Box with Cover Crops & Conservation,” in which he’ll recap a challenging 2024 and preview some of the experiments he has planned for 2025.
