Strategically located near Interstate 74, the new facility allowed the company to consolidate five storage facilities and three operation centers. Kevin Crow, general manager, said all employees from the other sites were retained and 40 additional staff were added.

“As we think about the future of Precision Planting, and look around this building, it addresses all the things that we wanted, which is additional capacity and additional capabilities to best serve our farmers across the world,” Crow said.

The Morton location fulfills nearly all orders for farms in more than 30 countries. AGCO Corporation CEO Eric Hansotia said the company continues to look for opportunities to serve new locations and has already planned the next doubling of the facility.

“This place is planting another flag saying we want to make sure we can grow effectively and deliver fast,” said Hansotia.

“PTx stands for precision technology multiplied,” said Seth Crawford, PTx senior vice-president and general manager. “For a farmer, it’s really multiplying the capabilities of bringing together these entities … to deliver those results that a farmer is desiring.”

Crawford said no matter the color of your farm machinery fleet, Precision Planting and PTx can help farmers enhance what they have.

“That way the farmer has one go-to source for their technology, and they can access that through their Precision Planting dealer,” he said.
