When it comes to getting the most from no-till, Russ Hedrick firmly believes a systems approach is necessary — and that includes no-tilling, cover crops, grazing livestock and using precision technology to manage seeding and nutrient application.

Having raised 300-bushel corn with just 140 units of applied nitrogen, the Hickory, N.C., no-tiller and manager of JRH Grain Farms will share how he’s successfully integrated these conservation tools into his 1,000-acre farm. He’ll discuss how evaluating on-farm data helps him focus no-till non-GMO corn, soybeans, white wheat and other crops profitably, rather than simply chasing yields.
