A no-tiller from Iowa once told me his biggest frustration wasn’t necessarily dealing with residue, controlling weeds or getting a good stand. It was the fact that he couldn’t convert his neighboring farmer to no-till.

Today just happens to be one of my favorite days of the year. Why is that, I hear you ask? Is it because I realize the November general election is about to end in a month and I won’t have to put up with a seemingly endless trail of campaign ads much longer? So, should no-till and other conservation-tillage practices have a major place in the Farm Bill? Managing editor John Dobberstein recently posed that question on the No-Till Farmer Facebook page.
