The latest RFX Hydraulic Planter Down Pressure System incorporates a larger bore diameter capable of providing greater force at lower hydraulic pressure. The actuator offers greater internal damping, minimizing high-frequency vibration of the planter row unit, which in turn allows the seed meter to operate more uniformly. Totally Tubular Starter Fertilizer Tubes
Totally Tubular’s quality-made, starter-fertilizer products apply fertilizer below the seed on a variety of planters to put fertilizer right where you want it – in the root system of the plant. Common rubber wheels are normally associated with the seed trench crusting and baking, or simply opening back up when used in wet soil. Sunco Saber Tooth Trash Discs
The task of moving trash in no-till has been perfected by Sunco with its Saber Tooth trash discs. Introduced in 1995, Sunco incorporates three unique features to move trash away from planter row units into the row middles:
- Sunco uses a concave disc instead of a wheel. Trash contacting the concave surface rotates the discs without needing ground contact. Trash flows away instead of being pushed.

The U-Trough System, developed by Jeff Littrell and Keith Schlapkohl of FHR, is a precision fertilizer-placement system that plants seed in a high-energy, nutrient-rich environment. Dry fertilizer is banded by one coulter and liquid fertilizer by another coulter alongside the seed furrow. The seed furrow receives a starter fertilizer with a beneficial biological inoculant. Dry fertilizer is slowly released, whereas the liquid fertilizer is quickly released.
