The 2940 Air Adjust Series* from Yetter Mfg. Co. allows for a parallel-linkage residue manager or the coulter residue-manager combo units to independently adjust the up-and-down pressure in the air bags to create the ideal “ride” for the residue manager. Using the in-cab controller, adjustments are made quickly, allowing for five adjustable settings to be made. Also, the residue managers can be raised in wet areas with the push of a button. *Patent Pending.
Even the most challenging soil won’t interfere with the ability of the Yetter 6200 Paddle Wheel to close your seed trench. It ensures full seed-to-soil contact, preventing yield-robbing air pockets. As the paddles enter and exit the soil, they fracture the sidewall. It has the added benefit of helping to warm the soil to speed even emergence. The ultimate benefit of the Yetter 6200 Cast Spike Closing Wheel is increased yield potential. It lifts and fractures soil with its exclusive teeth, improving seed-trench closing. It eliminates the potential for sidewall compaction, enhances seed-to-soil contact and helps prevent yield-robbing air pockets.
Martin Floating Row Cleaners are designed to follow the contours of the soil surface while consistently moving residue clear of the gauge wheel path. This allows the gauge wheels to run in the cleared zone to promote uniform depth control and quicker soil warming and rapid emergence.
Martin Spading Closing Wheels move soil toward the seed at planting depth, while lifting and fracturing the surface layer to achieve compaction-free closing of the seed trench. Crops will emerge sooner and planting can be done at proper depth, even in wetter conditions, without fear of crushed soil above the seed preventing emergence.
The Martin UMO-100 Fertilizer Opener mounts directly to the planting unit and is compact enough to be mounted within Martin 1360 Series Floating Row Cleaners. Fertilizer is always precisely the same distance from the seed, even when planting on the contour. It consistently places fertilizer in the ground without splattering it on the planter.
The Curvetine M-Series closing wheel is a drop-forged modular design with pressed-in hub studs that allows for quick switches from a curved-tooth wheel to a rubber wheel to match changing field conditions or tillage practices. The extreme durability of the Curvetine allows Dawn to now offer a lifetime guarantee against bending or breaking. The Curvetine chips in the soil sidewall, promoting seed-to-soil contact and uniform emergence without the need for firmers or drag chains. Components of the M-Series closing system are proudly manufactured and assembled in the USA.
The latest RFX Hydraulic Planter Down Pressure System incorporates a larger bore diameter capable of providing greater force at lower hydraulic pressure. The actuator offers greater internal damping, minimizing high-frequency vibration of the planter row unit, which in turn allows the seed meter to operate more uniformly. The intergraded accumulator will save the planter from rogue spikes in line pressure due to individual row units encountering inevitable in-field obstacles. The new flexible mounting system fits Deere, Kinze and CNH planter row units. Components of the RFX down-pressure system are proudly manufactured and assembled in the USA.
Totally Tubular’s quality-made, starter-fertilizer products apply fertilizer below the seed on a variety of planters to put fertilizer right where you want it – in the root system of the plant. These fertilizer tubes were named the 2012 No-Till Product of the Year in the Fertilizer Application category by No-Till Farmer readers. This simple yet effective design is totally protected by the disc blades, so rocks should not be an issue. The 1/8-inch wall, 3/8-inch stainless tube will easily outlast the disc scraper. The optional seed bounce flap closes the opening between the disc openers, assuring correct seed placement by eliminating seed bounce and ricochet.
Common rubber wheels are normally associated with the seed trench crusting and baking, or simply opening back up when used in wet soil. This is by far the most common complaint from farmers using traditional wheels. Posi-Close planter wheels will leave soft mulch on top of the seedbed to prevent crusting and baking. Posi-Close wheels will not leave any smearing or extreme compaction, which is always coupled with use of regular rubber wheels. No need to worry about the seed-trench wheels because there will be no seed trench. With the patented "horizontal rod" design and with a wide ground path, Posi-Close wheels will literally destroy the seed trench.
With their heavy-duty design and construction, MudSmith gauge wheels offer a considerable reduction in bent rims and dramatically less plugging vs. standard gauge wheels. The modular design provides ease of replacement, right in the field. MudSmith gauge wheels use a standard bearing and tire, but the unique design greatly enhances visibility and easy access to the inside of the wheel. The MudSmith is available in a three-spoke, 3-inch tire.
Farmers looking for extra bushels are utilizing 2-by-2 starter fertilizer placement using the row units of their planters. This method assures precise placement of fertilizer in relation to the seed. Precision fertilizer placement has proven to translate into uniform fields and higher yields with less fertilizer. The 3rd-generation Nutri Mate 3 from Sunco is the only row-unit-mounted, 2-by-2 starter-fertilizer opener proven to dependably deliver higher gallons of nutrients without plugging and no risk of seed burn. The Nutri Mate 3 features discs that pivot and are pulled; a larger notched disc that always rotates and runs parallel to the planter true V; a dependable, long-lasting inside scraper; and a state-of-the-art diaphragm check valve.
Are you having problems with implements not trailing properly, especially with RTK GPS on the tractor? The Sunco Stabilizer is designed to attach to implements and keep them trailing directly behind the tractor. On slopes, side hills and even relatively flat fields, implements can drift to the side, and the Sunco Stabilizer will help eliminate this problem. Designed to mount between the rows on planters, the Stabilizer can also mount on implements like cultivators, strip-till machines and bedders. The heavy-duty, durable and long-lasting construction of the Sunco Stabilizer assures years of dependable elimination of implement slippage.
The task of moving trash in no-till has been perfected by Sunco with its Saber Tooth trash discs. Introduced in 1995, Sunco incorporates three unique features to move trash away from planter row units into the row middles:
- Sunco uses a concave disc instead of a wheel. Trash contacting the concave surface rotates the discs without needing ground contact. Trash flows away instead of being pushed.
- The original “Saber Tooth Tiger Tooth” swept-back tooth design releases trash, rather than poking and carrying it as with spiked wheels.
- The two discs are separated enough so they don’t compete for trash, stop turning and plug.
Plus, height adjustment is fast with Sunco’s new Quick Adjust Pin and adjustment tool!

The U-Trough System, developed by Jeff Littrell and Keith Schlapkohl of FHR, is a precision fertilizer-placement system that plants seed in a high-energy, nutrient-rich environment. Dry fertilizer is banded by one coulter and liquid fertilizer by another coulter alongside the seed furrow. The seed furrow receives a starter fertilizer with a beneficial biological inoculant. Dry fertilizer is slowly released, whereas the liquid fertilizer is quickly released. Combined with the in-furrow liquid starter, developing roots are never deficient of nutrients and develop rapidly and massively when encountering the specialized, formulated fertilizers from FHR.
These self-cleaning finger row cleaners are available as three- or six-hole units. The new Power Row Cleaner features individual electronic-driven depth control on the go from within the cab. Groff row cleaners enter soil horizontally and emerge vertically for tangle-free operation, and remove residue with minimal disturbance while pulverizing clods. They remove residue from a wider path to reduce planter bounce and ensure more uniform seed depth for improved seed-to-soil contact. The row cleaners minimize wrapping in damp conditions and reduce hairpinning and wedging.
