WICHITA, Kan. — Celebrating its 30th year of educating growers, the No-till on the Plains Winter Conference kicks off next week with a plethora of experienced growers, researchers and consultants ready to share their knowledge of regenerative agriculture.

NTOP is slated for Jan. 19-22, 2026 at the Wichita Marriott in downtown Wichita, Kan. Registration will close at noon CST Jan. 15th. 

Here are highlights for the conference:

Monday, Jan. 19 — Get to know the health of your soil through simple DIY tests in the practical field day led by Australian soil scientist Philip Mulvey. He and attendees will discuss the importance of mending and maintaining the small water cycle and how to build and track soil carbon on your farm. Participants are asked to bring roughly 250g of their best and worst soils from 30cm to perform hands-on tests during the workshop. 

Tuesday & Wednesday, Jan. 20-21 — The main event kicks off with several notable speakers, including director of ranches, outreach, and partnerships at Noble Research Institute, Hugh Alijoe; Mulvey and Freya Mulvey, who is an author, environmental lawyer and soil advocate; veteran Indiana no-tiller Rodney Rulon; fifth-generation rancher and agri-preneur Jay Doan; Washington no-tiller Douglas Poole; and soil and ecosystem scientist and co-developer of the Haney soil health test, Liz Haney.

Thursday, Jan. 22 — NTOP’s AIM Symposium runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with featured speakers Klaas Martens (systems approach to ag and rotations), Lance Gunderson (nutrient cycling) and Justin Jacobs (intercropping) covering a variety of cutting-edge topics.
