Building Soil Health Through Livestock & Other Alternatives
There are many ways of building ecological diversity and soil health, and cover crops aren’t the only solution. Almena, Kan., no-tiller and rancher Michael Thompson, a former NNTC Most Outstanding Speaker, returns to our 2026 event to share the advantages he’s realized through integrating livestock on his farm operation to turn weaker crop acreage into beef, as well as drag-lining hog manure and using compost extract made on his farm to build soil fertility.
The 2026 National No-Tillage Conference Video Replay is brought to you by Clean Fuel Credit Consortium (CFCC).
“We’re proud to support the No-Till Farmers Group because regenerative practices protect the land, strengthen rural communities, and build a more resilient future for agriculture. Supporting farmers who steward the soil aligns directly with our commitment to long-term sustainability and responsible growth.”
