Product Details

With more than 40 years experience no-tilling, western Kentucky farmer Jerry Peery has faced many struggles and realized triumphs in no-tilling. The owner of Springhill Farms near Clinton, Ky., will provide an overview of the strategies and tactics he implements in his 1,600-acre corn and soybean operation.

The no-tiller will review the effort he’s taken to control erosion in highly erodible soils, the use of an industrial “waste” byproduct that helps build soil organic matter and improve moisture retention, planter setups, cover-cropping practices, new technologies for more precise farming, variable-rate seeding, soybean population studies, split applications of nutrients, soil-health testing and more. Peery will also examine the tactics that helped him harvest record crop yields in 2013.
