The current El Nino event unfolding before our eyes has been well forecast for nearly 6 months and will likely lead to above normal temperatures this winter for the northern half of the continental U.S.

Syngenta introduced SY Valda, new semi-dwarf hard red spring wheat variety that offers a strong disease package including tolerance to stem and leaf rust, tan spot and Fusarium head blight.

DuPont Crop Protection obtained the establishment of tolerances by the U.S. EPA that will facilitate the use of herbicides containing nicosulfuron and rimsulfuron on sorghum varieties containing the DuPont Inzen herbicide-tolerance sorghum trait. 

Last fall we drilled our edible bean crop, rather than planting them with a planter as we’ve done for the last several years. I think we learned a few lessons that I would like to share with you.
