No-Till Is Worth The Effort (NNTC 2010 Presentation)- MP3 Download
Farming is not easy, but Keith Schlapkohl is living proof that the effort you put into trying new approaches with no-till can really pay off. The Stockton, Iowa, no-tiller will be the first to admit his initial entry into no-till in the mid-1980s was a disaster; however, what he’s learned has led him to experience moments when the yield monitor shows corn yields pushing above 300 bushels per acre and soybean yields of 100 bushels per acre or more.
A proponent of on-farm trials, Schlapkohl will share challenges he’s faced through the years and how through perseverance he’s found solutions to help his no-till system thrive. He’ll share on-farm research data that will give insight into steps to improve your no-till management, as well as encourage you to make your no-till acres more productive rather than expanding your total acreage.
