Addressing Economic, Environmental Risks While No-Tilling (NNTC 2012 Presentation) - MP3 Download
At no time has agriculture had a greater potential to benefit the people and economy of the U.S. while having far-reaching accomplishments in improving the quality of our food, soil, water and air, Barry Fisher says. The NRCS state agronomist for Indiana adds that soil health is the key soil productivity and the foundation for cleaner air and water.
Fisher will focus on the economic benefits of a “conservation cropping system” that includes no-till and integrates advanced nutrient and pest management strategies with practices like cover crops and drainage management. He’ll share ways to reduce nutrient losses and energy inputs while increasing soil organic matter and productivity.
