I have pretty much ruled out using any in furrow starter, but I was looking for opinions on the performance of the Regent insecticide compared to warrior sprayed over the top or any dry insecticides applied with planter on top of row. If anyone has a preferance one way or the other I would appreciate any opinion on the matter you have to offer on the performance of the products.

that would be the best way to carry this question. Here we are wanting to control wireworms & maggots early on. I use Pounce in furrow with starter. It does a great job and only costs about $5.00-$6.00 an acre. Then if you have a ECB problem you can come back with Pounce again post treatment, again for the same amount. So if you need 2 applications Pounce you will come in lower than one upfront of Regent(which I have used & liked), Furdan, Counter, Capture...etc or some of the others. The only thing it misses for us that sometimes is a problem is Billbugs. Other than that it works well and is pretty safe to handle compared to some of the others, that is one BIG plus for Regent concerning its safety. On the post trip with Pounce, it can be mixed most post sprays that we use post applied.

What rates on Pounce? I am going to use something on wireworms. ECB has not been a problem. One of my suppliers is big on Regent. In the past I have used Kernal Guard but wireworm pressure was too great. Any suggestions?

I use 6oz per acre in furrow and I'm in narrow rows. So I guess you could ease up on it some in 30's or <? I quit using KG last year. The year before that I tried the new KG Supreme, it was a big mess. Maybe just my problem but it did not adhere well to the seed and would end up in the bottom of the hoppers. Then if you had a big dew over night, it would wick moisture inside the hopper and gum up. Also, when using either of the KG products, the seed seems not to flow as well which in turn makes filling up more frequent because the seed does not clean out as well as seed without it.
