Pop up through Keetons

Those of you who run pop up through keeton's, are you guys using the tube with the splitter to apply product on both sides of the seed furrow or the tube that puts product directly on top of the seed.

I am using the splitter also. I like the idea of putting the fert. on either side of the seed.

We put it down in the furrow with the supplied tube on the planter and the drill.

I use the curved inserts (almost a 90 degree) made by precision planting that you stick into the back of the keeton and it shoots the pop up fert. right down to the bottom of the seed trench. This is where the pop up fert needs to be in my opinion, so that the new roots can contact it quickly. Roots don't grow up to the side of the seed trench, right?

Had splitters but we took the little splitter insert out of the tube after a couple plugged up so the fert now goes right in furrow. The plugging problem might be rectified with better screens in the supply line, but I have a hard time believing the difference between the two placements would be amount to much anyway.
