The Freeborn County Soil Health Team strives to facilitate local collaboration that encourages, educates, and demonstrates how to improve our soil health and water quality while improving productivity, profitability, and sustainability of our natural resources. Participants of this field day will come away with knowledge on what it takes to successfully establish, grow, and terminate a cover crop in southern Minnesota. Presentations and discussion on local soil temperature data, rainfall simulator comparing different farm managements, root pit, and special guests presentation "Ryegrass: An extraordinary athlete servicing your Soil AND your Wallet" are all planned for this event. This field day is free and no registration is required but appreciated as our sponsors are providing lunch!
